Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham has been accused of animal abuse after she painted/dyed her daughter Sophia’s miniature horse, Starburst, pink in honor of the pint-sized reality star’s eighth birthday.

Soph shared a picture of her horse —which was a Christmas present from her mom — and wrote, “Starburst, my little pony, got dressed up for her red carpet moment.” It’s worth noting that Soph’s slumber party birthday party — which was held on a school night! — boasted not only a step-and-repeat for photo ops, but also an impressive eight-tier cake that could rival most wedding cakes!
It didn’t take long for people to take to the comments to critique Farrah (and Sophia) for treating their animal as if it was an accessory, and not a living thing.
“Considering her age, she could have gotten paint in the pony’s eyes or ears or the pony could have ingested the paint/fumes,” one concerned commenter wrote. Another added, “Definite animal abuse. What is wrong with these people?”
Farrah is far from the first Teen Mom star who has come under fire for alleged animal abuse. Jenelle Evans was called out and was forced to apologize after she was seen putting two dogs in one cramped crate; she was also seen dragging one of her pups across the floor. Ryan Edwards was also harshly criticized after he confessed to shooting cats in his yard.
