Former Utah congressman Jason Chaffetz blasted Attorney General Jeff Sessions saying he “needs to go” in order to fix “major systemic problems” in the Department of Justice.
GOP Reps. Mark Meadows and Jim Jordan are also calling on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign. The fed up Congressmen criticized Sessions’ Justice Department for failing to cooperate with Congress and for leaks related to its Russia investigation.
“Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself from the Russia investigation, but it would appear he has no control at all of the premier law enforcement agency in the world,” the congressmen wrote in an op-ed in the Washington Examiner.
“It is time for Sessions to start managing in a spirit of transparency to bring all of this improper behavior to light and stop further violations. If Sessions can’t address this issue immediately, then we have one final question needing an answer: When is it time for a new attorney general? Sadly, it seems the answer is now.”
“Attorney General Jeff Sessions, his time has come,” Chaffetz said on “The Story.” “He’s gotta go. I agree with Meadows and Jordan on this.”
He then cited Sessions as being “non-existent” and “irrelevant” in the Russia investigation.
“I think it was a bad pick. And I think it’s time for him to go,” Chaffetz said.
Marie Harf rushed to Sessions’ defense saying that he is a strong conservative who has supported President Trump on a number of his policies.
“It’s so fascinating to me that conservative members of Congress want to throw him under the bus because he recused himself and because of leaks that are happening in the government. He’s on their side on policy,” Harf said.
“He’s non-existent, and there are major systemic problems at the Department of Justice and they’re not fixing them,” Chaffetz shot back. “And that’s why he’s gotta go.”

Jeff Sessions is obviously afraid for his life and too scared to act on anything serious. He is starting to look like a career, trough feeding, establishment politician who will always do what is best for himself rather than what is right for his country.
Trump is a smart man. It’s more than likely that the president is fully aware of Sessions’ establishment agenda and will dump him when the time is right.
Sessions may have inherited more mess, coverups and corruption than any other Attorney General before him, but that is no excuse for his apparent lack of urgency when it comes to rounding up the real criminals in question.
Trey Gowdy would have made a truly formidable Attorney General who is capable of getting the job done right and cleaning up all of the mess made by the previous administration over the last decade. He should really reconsider taking up the position.
Sessions may be loyal but he doesn’t have the guts to do what needs to be done. So far he has done nothing but stay under the radar, until just recently coming out of the woodwork to attack 27 states with marijuana laws. Guess what Sessions, those 27 will hurt Trump’s reelection chances in 2020.
It’s come time for Sessions to step down and allow someone with the guts and brains to get the job done.
