MSNBC libtard Joe Scarborough wrote in a Thursday Washington Post op-ed piece that he met with then-candidate Trump after a presidential debate in September 2016. Backstage, away from the glare of the lights and camera, Scarborough insultingly asked point blank if Trump was illiterate.
“Mika Brzezinski and I had a tense meeting with Trump following what I considered to be a bumbling debate performance in September. I asked the candidate a blunt question: Can you read,” Scarborough writes.
Scarborough claims there was an “awkward silence.” The Morning Joe host said, “I’m serious, Donald. Do you read? If someone wrote you a one-page paper on a policy, could you read it?”
Trump then calmly said he could read and held up a Bible. Given to him by his mother, then-candidate Trump told Scarborough he reads it “all the time.”
In his Thursday hit piece, Mr. Scarborough cites USA Today columnist Michael Wolff’s new book “Fire and Fury,” where Wolff claims Trump never reads.
“The world wonders how the United States will survive Donald Trump. And I ask, what will finally move Republicans to deliver a non-negotiable ultimatum to this unstable president?” Scarborough writes. “Will they dare place their country’s interests above their own political fears? Or will they move to end this American tragedy only when there is nothing left to lose?”
This is a textbook example of just how different President Trump is from his liberal critics in the mainstream media. They question his ability, his competency, and even his ability to read. President Trump, to his credit, maintains his composure and asserts that yes, he can in fact read… And, if you must know, he enjoys reading the Bible.
This is a man who beat the best field of Republican contenders assembled in a generation to secure the nomination in 2016. He went on to wage a campaign that dominated the media and eventually landed a defeat on the Democrat’s sure thing, Hillary Clinton.
To claim that Donald Trump is anything less than a political genius is patently absurd. Just because he’s different and doesn’t play by establishment rules doesn’t mean he’s stupid. It means he has integrity.
Mr. Scarborough, you don’t change the game by playing by the old rules. You invent new ones.
