Democratic lawmakers are finally beginning to realize that President Donald Trump truly does have the best interests of the American people at heart, and their once strong wall of resistance is finally starting to show signs of cracking.
California Democrat Congresswoman Jackie Speier was the first of hopefully many to cross party lines when she announced that she was ready to work with Republicans on Capitol Hill to create a new immigration plan, signaling that she was prepared to sign legislation to fund the southern border wall in exchange for a renewed commitment to DACA.
“I’m willing to go, you know, midway with the president and the Republicans to fund higher-tech walls along our border, more border security, enhanced measures, but I really feel very strongly that our DACA kids need to be protected,” the Congresswoman told a host Craig Melvin at MSNBC. “I would be willing to give the president a high-tech wall, willing to give him some amount of money to build his wall to a certain degree,” she added, leaving her interviewer in shock.
Democratic leaders in Congress like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer have repeatedly dug in their heels and swore that their party would resist the border wall with all their might, but it seems like that once strong resolve is starting to wear down. With the deadline for DACA drawing closer and closer, many on the left are realizing that the only hope they have to get their bills passed and to keep their voting base intact is to cross the aisle and work with the Republicans. It looks like they are finally starting to realize that they have lost their power, and know that their only hope now is to work together or get run over.
Rep. Speier is also not likely to be the last Dem to agree to provide funding for the wall in exchange for further talks on DACA, and her decision certainly goes to show that our President is winning, despite what the main stream media would have you believe. For the looks of it, it is only a matter of time before the wall receives its funding and our President can continue on with his promise to Make America Great Again.
